It has been six years since the tragic passing of TV presenter Caroline Flack, and for her close friend Olly Murs, the loss is still deeply felt.
On the anniversary of her death (February 15), the singer posted an emotional tribute to his former X Factor co-host, sharing a nostalgic photo that captures the instant spark of their friendship.
Here is a look at Olly’s touching message and the enduring legacy of the beloved star.
“We Just Clicked Straight Away”

Taking to social media, Murs shared a throwback photo of the pair from 2011, taken the very first time they met in Birmingham. The image shows Murs with his arms around Flack, both beaming—a snapshot of the chemistry that would eventually see them presenting The X Factor together in 2015.
“Six years and it still feels strange you’re not here,” Murs wrote in the caption. “This photo was the first time we met… and after about five minutes in a room we just clicked straight away! We walked out already laughing and giggling together. I miss those moments Caz.”
A Friendship “Forever Broken”

The bond between the two was undeniable. When Flack tragically took her own life in 2020, Murs famously stated that his heart was “forever broken.”
Reflecting on their relationship, he has previously shared how he tried to support her during her toughest times, viewing her like a sister. “I remember messaging you… to let you know that I never read or listened to any of the crap people were saying about you,” he said in 2020. “I always knew how fragile you were but I never ever thought this would be the last contact we would have.”
Fans flooded the new post with support, with one writing, “She will be ever so proud of you Olly, what a beautiful friendship you guys had.”
The Search for Truth
Caroline’s legacy continues to be a topic of public conversation. Last year, Disney+ released the two-part documentary Caroline Flack: Search for the Truth.
The series followed Caroline’s mother, Christine Flack, as she investigated the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death, featuring never-before-heard messages and challenging the public narrative. “People think they know what happened to Caroline, but the reality is much darker,” Christine stated in the documentary.
